When it comes to professional live streaming there is no shortcuts.
Hot 102.7 decided for the very first time to not just go live on the raido with Hot Cares this year, but also on their YouTube channel...for 12.5 hours! Yes 6am to 6:30pm
From a communication point and looking at this from the outside should be a disaster...unfortuantely songs aired between DJ/presenter breaks cannot be played on YouTube, so we had to generate a bunch of licesnsed music for the stream, on top of that we had to work in some video stories supplied by Hot 102.7 to keep viewers looking at something during the quiet 'YouTube stream'.
When it comes to projects like this, its not just a lot of planning, but communication between the team. We run with the Hollyland Solidcom C1 Pro headsets, this keeps the team in check, allowing all of us to know whats happening, where its happening so nothing goes unnoticed.
Running around with a camera on a gimbal, transmitting 1 angle completely wireless allowed us to capture such cool moments, the Hot 102.7 chopper landing with Ross Learmonth getting out, also the Ferrari club, the flying pigeons...all in all it was amazing.
The entire event took place in Johannesburg at Papachinos in Broadacres.
Thank you to Hot 102.7 for entrusting us in this super cool project that raised R27 MILLION!!!! Yes, thats right, and all that money goes to an amazing cause and we are super proud to be part of it.
Lets make the 2025 Hot Cares live stream even better!
